Christmas Movie Countdown: #12

Despite being only 26 minutes long it actually made it to theaters. This Disney incarnation of the classic story includes many of your favourite characters from the Mickey Mouse universe.

If you have seen it, you know what it's about and if you haven't well I'm sure you still know. There isn't anything fundamentally different in this version, other than all the anthropomorphic characters.

The characters are as follows: (I could give you the names of the voice actors but what good would that do)

Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge (Seems like a good fit)
Goofy as Jacob Marley's ghost
Donald Duck as Scrooge's nephew, Fred
Daisy Duck as Isabelle

The Cratchit family is rounded out by Minnie as Mrs. Cratchit and a mix of whatever child mice there are in Mickey's family play Bob's daughters and Tiny Tim. There are plenty of other Disney characters that make cameos but I'm pretty sure they're non-speaking and are pretty much just in the background.

It was nominated for Best Animated Short at the 1984 Oscars but sadly lost to a movie that I've never heard of nor seen.

As I said before there isn't anything that stands out from the original story or other film adaptations but the fact that it's Mickey and friends playing the story out is just awesome.
